We had a feeling there would be a good crowd when
people started arriving as early as 4:30 for tickets. We had no idea
we would have to turn away about 50 people. A sold out show is
exciting but we hated not being able to accommodate all. Our
apologies to those turned away and we hope to see you at another
event.
As expected, the entertainment was first rate and we are so grateful
to George and all the other talented performers for their efforts on
our behalf.
One audience member commented that George's sincerity was very
obvious as was his love for his hometown and that he was a mixture
of a Garrison Keillor and a Will Rogers. Another was overheard
saying this was the best $5.00 she had spent in a long time, her
companion responded that she enjoyed the show more than Kennedy
Center, high praise indeed!
The funds raised at events like this one will help our small
non-profit organization continue to improve the Opera House for the
comfort and pleasure of the audience and performers and the long
term preservation of this one of a kind facility.
The performers were: George Dodds, Don Woodcock, Carter Houk, Ron
Kirkpatrick, Bob Powers, Rick Meilleur, Tom Ritchie, Dawn Walker,
Steve "Larry" Walker, Mike Welch and Ron Kirkpatrick's
son, Josh. Thank you to each any every one of you and see you next
year!
